One Month Out From ROMP: What to Know

It’s time to start packin’ your best lounge chairs and tie-dyed shirts because we are only one month out from Owensboro’s biggest music festival of the year, ya’ll!

ROMP 2022 will be bringing you some of the best Bluegrass music in the world for four days on June 22-25. And when we say this year’s lineup is one of the best we’ve ever seen, that’s not an exaggeration.

Held at our gorgeous Yellow Creek Park, ROMP’s headliners include Punch Brothers, Leftover Salmon, Dan Tyminski Band, The Del McCoury Band, Rhiannon Giddens, Tommy Emmanuel, We Banjo 3, Marty Stuart And His Fabulous Superlatives, Steep Canyon Rangers and The Steeldrivers.

Whether or not you’re a fan of Bluegrass music, this lineup is something to get excited about. Full of multiple Grammy winners and world-renown entertainers, there’s never been a better time to check out Bluegrass music than at this year’s ROMP.

For first-timers, there’s no experience in the world quite like ROMP. You can find people of all ages enjoying the naturistic beauty of Yellow Creek Park as the music plays all day and night.

You can shop from vendors and eat from food trucks, walk along light-adorned pathways, and bring your family and friends for an adventurous camping excursion if you so please. If you aren’t camping out for this four-day fest, we’ve got you covered with trolleys that run to and from downtown Owensboro to Yellow Creek Park, and plenty of parking spaces for those who want to drive themselves.

Tickets for ROMP are still available, and you can purchase either a single day ticket or a four-day pass that gives you access to each and every day of live music. VIP tickets will also provide you with catered meals from some of Owensboro’s best barbecue restaurants.

Owensboro also has some wonderful, top-ranked hotels to give you a good night’s rest between those warm days at the park! Check your options out right here.
