State Fiddle Championships

You’ll have the chance to see some of the best fiddle players in the state perform their craft this weekend, with the Kentucky State Fiddle Championships coming to you live on March 12 at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum. As a music-centric cultural center, those at the Bluegrass Museum love celebrating rich history and great stories behind Bluegrass music, which is why they brought the State Fiddle Championships to their site in 2021. With a new, updated format and greater emphasis on fiddling than ever before, this event is expected to once again evolve into one of the major competitions in the southeastern US in the coming years. Fiddlers will be playing all day long and the event is $10 to attend!

Hot Brown Smackdown

Get ready to boogie on down to Owensboro as Hot Brown Smackdown takes the stage at Brasher’s Lil’ Nashville for a night of live music. This six-piece, Newgrass-fusion ensemble from Louisville has delighted concert- and festival-goers for years by combining brightly textured, hard-driving, powerful Bluegrass polyphony with high-energy groove and soul. The band will play from 9 p.m.-1:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 12 and there will be a cover charge at the door.
