Where to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Owensboro

It’s safe to say that the past couple of years have not been the smoothest of rides, so looking ahead to the new year holds a lot more meaning these days. Whether the 2022 year will be better, worse or about the same as 2021 has yet to be seen, but that doesn’t mean you can’t hope for the best and have a little fun while doing it.

There are a ton of ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve. For some, staying home and watching the ball drop is an annual tradition. For others, there is nothing that spells NYE better than getting out of the house and hitting the dance floor. And for some, New Year’s Eve is kept simple with a candlelit dinner and glass of champagne.

Owensboro has several NYE events happening across the area and, no matter what kind of NYE celebrator you are, there’s something here for everyone.

Goldie’s Final Reunion will take place on New Year’s Eve at the RiverPark Center on Friday, Dec. 31 from 8-midnight. The show will include Goldie, the guys and gals of the Backstage Band, backup singers and other “friends of the show,” such as Jon Brennan, Katie Herron, Tara Estes, Travis Estes, Janie Jett Mason and Jerry, Greg Tate, Barry and Bill Potter. This will be Goldie’s final NYE Show in Owensboro, so make sure you make it to Owensboro for this historic night! Tickets for this show are $30.

Head to Bar Louie from 8-11 p.m. to hear some live country music before the countdown begins!

Drake’s Owensboro is having a really good dinner deal on New Year’s Eve this year where two people can dine for $43. The special includes an appetizer, two entrees and a dessert to share. Two glasses of champagne are also included in the dinner, so toast to the new year on a great note!

Get your glow on and celebrate the New Year at the Owensboro Convention Center’s Glow Year’s Eve Party on December 31. Downtown Owensboro will be the hot spot for NYE and this glow party will have you dancing into 2022 with your favorite party anthems from Blue Line Entertainment. Grab your free glow swag and enjoy themed drink specials and concessions throughout the night as well. Doors will open for this event at 8:30 p.m. with live music running from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. Wear your best “glow attire” (i.e. white, neon and fluorescents) for this event and be sure to purchase your $20 tickets in advance, or else it’s $25 at the door! Also note that this event is for the adults only, so be sure to bring your ID.

And if you’re seeking a quiet night, but you still want to get out of the house, celebrate NYE with your loved ones by booking a “staycation” or weekend trip to Owensboro at one of our local hotels! You can dine downtown, go ice-skating at Energy on Ice and still catch the ball drop at midnight in the comfort of your hotel room. And even better, you can still enjoy that bottle of champagne—to go.
