For those craving pumpkin-spice lattes (and more), Owensboro is where it’s at

From home décor splashed with leaves and pumpkins, to the slow but steady promise of cooler weather, Fall is pretty much here, and we are loving it.

Here in Owensboro, you have everything you need to live your best life this Fall. And with that best life, comes coffee. And yes, we’re talking coffee of the pumpkin-spiced variety.

While we all know Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts have you covered on pumpkin-spice lattes, you can also explore Owensboro’s very own coffee shops for that special something you get from drinking a coffee that’s been made by a local business.

At Niko’s Bakery and Café, not only can you get some super fancy pumpkin-flavored coffee, you can also pick up a ton of treats that are made from locally roasted pumpkins. The café is serving up pumpkin pie macarons right now, and they are every bit as delicious as you can imagine.

Along with macarons, the café has whipped up a selection of roasted pumpkin cinnamon- and cardamom-filled rolls with maple cream cheese frosting. I wouldn’t recommend trying to say that five times fast, but I HIGHLY recommend you visit the shop and treat your taste buds with these creamy, delicious desserts while you can.

But back to coffee. Niko’s is pulling all the stops, serving up Maple Spice Cold Brews, Snickerdoodle Lattes and, yes, pumpkin-spiced lattes – hot or cold, however you like it.

One of the cutest coffee shops western Kentucky has to offer, The Crème Coffee House is located right in the middle of downtown Owensboro at 109 East Second Street. The Crème has become a local legend for serving some of the best flavored coffee in Owensboro, and they do not disappoint when it comes to creating Fall-themed specialty drinks.

At the Crème, you can get your pumpkin-spiced latte served hot, cold or frozen. If you decide to have your coffee in-house, you’ll get the chance to peruse work from local artists and have a seat at one of the shop’s eclectic, yet comfortable, seating areas. At the Crème, it’s about the experience as much as the coffee.

You can get amazing coffee and baked goods at The Spot Coffee and Finery. This locally-owned shop is currently serving up pumpkin and apple turnovers for fall, along with a variety of other fall-themed specialty coffees.

Try The Spot’s Peach Cobbler Latte (sprinkled with brown sugar) for something new, or the Blended Chai – a twist on The Spot’s guest favorite.

Those opting for fall-themed coffees, minus the dairy — no worries. The Stop provides a variety of alternative milk options, including oat, almond and coconut milk.

In the end, no matter which coffee shop you visit for your long-awaited pumpkin-, cinnamon-, peach- or maple-flavored latte, Owensboro has it all. And hey, there’s no time like the present to treat yourself.
