Friday After 5

Friday After 5 is where the weekend begins! Where else can you walk along a gorgeous riverfront as you explore up to eight different stages of music, food trucks, bar and drink stations, and local artisan vendors? This weekend, Friday, June 18, you’ll find country, blues, gospel, 70’s tunes, and much more along the “Mile of Music”. Whether you bring the whole family or come out for a fun night with friends, you’ll find fun for everyone. When you’re not jamming out at one of the stages, explore the vendors selling clothing, jewelry, art and more, play a little cornhole, or visit the Backyard Movies and Music event at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Don’t forget to come ready to feast– there are at least 17 food trucks lined up along Veterans Boulevard and no shortages of alcoholic or nonalcoholic beverages throughout the festival. Start your weekend off right with family, friends, and free fun!

 

Dazzling Daylily Festival

Saturday, June 19 kicks off the 2021 Dazzling Daylily Festival at the Western Kentucky Botanical Gardens! At this annual festival, you can view thousands of stunning blooming daylilies and celebrate the summer in nature. The opening day celebration features the Owensboro Art Guild Plein Air event, showcasing artists painting live throughout the garden beginning at 7 a.m. Start the day off strong with Yoga in the Garden at 8 a.m. At 6 p.m., the festival comes to life with lots of activities for children, food trucks, a jazz trio from the Owensboro Symphony, magic shows, and an epic sound and light show featuring DJ Prof G. The festival will run from June 19 to June 26. Throughout the festival, explore over 800 varieties of daylilies, daylily tours, the daylily dig bed, twelve themed gardens, a children’s playhouse, a conservatory, and art many displays.

 

Tractor and Implement Show

Head to Diamond Lake Resort on Saturday, June 19 to peruse the best tractors and implements from all over! This is an all-day event starting at 8 a.m. Come see the “Show ‘n Shine” with both stock and modified tractors! Judging will be optional. There will also be some fun rodeo-themed events and even a parade through the park! Also, If you need to clear out some of your old unused “stuff”, bring it to the annual yard sale. Remember, one man’s junk is another man’s treasure!
