Terry Bradshaw’s Kentucky Straight Bourbon

When you hear the name Terry Bradshaw, you likely think of the Pittsburgh Steelers star quarterback who led the team to win the Super Bowl four times between 1975 and 1980. You may also know him now as one of the most iconic sports analysts on broadcast television. Regardless of how you know him, you believe he is a brazen character, and a man who has grown to love the simple things in life – family, football, farm life, and most importantly, bourbon.

Bradshaw carried that winning spirit into a brand-new venture as he launches Bradshaw Bourbon, made right here in Owensboro at Green River Distilling Company. Bradshaw discovered his love for the spirit after his playing days and decided he wanted to create his own bourbon only a couple years ago. Despite launching in February of 2020, the beginning of the pandemic, Bradshaw’s signature bourbon is selling well in hundreds of locations. It even caught the attention of Fred Minnick, a living legend in the bourbon world, who awarded Bradshaw Bourbon second place alongside fierce competitors including Eagle Rare, Old Forester, Wild Turkey Rare Breed, and others. Experts at Wine Enthusiast Magazine also gave the bourbon a strong rating of 91. Reasonably priced at $40 for a 750ml bottle, Bradshaw Bourbon gives you quality taste and affordability.

The straight whiskey delivers full-bodied flavor with notes of cinnamon, baking spices, and caramel and a lingering finish with black pepper and light leather. It has a mash bill of 70% corn, 21% rye, and 9% malted barley, and is proofed to 51.9% ABV, a tribute to the quarterback’s career pass completion percentage.

Bradshaw landed on Green River Distilling Company to produce his bourbon because he wanted quality. Where better than at one of the most legendary sites in the industry where quality corn in grown in their backyard? The location of Green River Distilling Company has been producing bourbon whiskey since 1885 and is now led by Jacob Call, third generation master distiller. Today, Green River Distillery is the fourth largest independent bourbon distillery in the United States and produces 90,000 barrels of whiskey and rye a year.

As Bradshaw would say, “Four Super Bowl victories was no ordinary feat, and this is no ordinary bourbon.”
