The Owensboro Convention Center will host the 7th annual Dancing with Our Stars Owensboro Style, a benefit for the Boulware Mission, on Saturday, August 10 at 5 p.m.  Enjoy a fun-filled evening as you watch six local celebrities and their partners compete for the coveted mirror ball trophy!  The evening begins with photos on the red carpet and a delicious dinner at 6 p.m. before the competition.  Grab a good seat for viewing because audience member’s votes count for 50% of each couple’s overall score!  The couple with the highest combined total of judges’ points and people’s choices votes will be this year’s mirror-ball champions.  Click here for more information and instructions to cast your ballot.  The ballroom floor will open up for open dancing after the competition.  Tickets are $80 per person, click here to purchase yours now!

 

Lanham Brothers Jamboree Fiddle Extravaganza

Brothers Randy and Barry Lanham celebrate roots music, clogging, and Kentucky arts with the Lanham Brothers Jamboree at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum on Saturday, August 10th, beginning at 7 p.m.  Fiddle Extravaganza features special guests David Morris, Annabelle Watts, Mackenzie Bell, Mark Shelton and the Foot Stompin’ Express Cloggers.   Country and bluegrass music, clogging and square dancing, audience participation with comedy will all be featured in the family-friendly show. Friday After 5

The 23rd season of the areas favorite free summer series, “Shake, Rattle & Stroll”, continues with a new set of live bands, family events, food trucks and entertainment this Friday, August 9 beginning at 5 p.m.!  Some of this Friday’s music ranges from acoustic melodies from local favorite Drew Aud to high energy dance tunes from Remedies.  A full schedule of live music for the night can be found here.  And don’t forget about the 5th annual The Wesleyan Way FA5k at the Kroger Street Fair!  Fun for the whole family can be found from balloon animals to the FAF Foto Booth to special character Elmo tonight, courtesy of TD’s Tuff Decisions.
