A Local’s Guide To ROMP Takes Flight

The Airshow is always a fun event in Owensboro. People come in from all around to see the planes take flight on September 14th and 15th.

At this year’s Airshow, performers like Team Aeroshell, F-16 Viper Demo Team, USAF Heritage Foundation, and trick pilot Kevin Coleman promise an exciting show. The F-16 Viper Demo Team will blast into Owensboro for the show and trust me, you’ll know when they arrive by the loud jet noises that shake your house.  Along with the planes, Noah Watts Skydiving Team and Army Aviation helicopters will make an appearance during the show. This year’s lineup looks thrilling, so make sure you’re downtown to see it.

This year, on September 14th, the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum has included one of Owensboro’s favorite events with the Airshow: ROMP is coming downtown.

“Mini ROMP” will have bands who have already played at Owensboro’s favorite outdoor event: Dustbowl Revival, Synthian, Hogslop String Band, and Rumpke Mountain Boys. Hogslop String Band is a band to look out for.  One of the members plays a washing bucket with a singular string attached to it and calls it the “washtub bass.” These four bands guarantee for a great night of bluegrass that will get you off your feet. The concert will start after the airshow on Saturday, and with it only being $15, it’s an event you won’t want to miss.
