4th of July Celebrations

Downtown Owensboro comes alive for the 4th of July every year with crowds flocking to celebrate together on the riverfront as the sky above the Ohio River lights up with fireworks.

The City of Owensboro hosts the event along Owensboro’s riverfront to celebrate the All-American Fourth of July on Thursday, July 4.  The annual celebration will include food vendors along Veterans Blvd. and live music at McConnell Plaza throughout the evening.  Finishing the night with a bang, the City will put on the largest fireworks display above the Ohio River with some of your favorite patriotic music at 9:15 p.m. Grab your lawn chairs and blankets and arrive early to enjoy an evening full of entertainment for the entire family.

But before you claim your spot for the night, check out all the additional fun happening at the Owensboro Convention Center!  Beginning at 6 p.m., enjoy various activities and inflatables for kids, including a Bouncer Maze, Duck Pond, rockwall, and Extreme Chaos Obstacle Course among others.  Concessions will also be available on site, so guests will have the opportunity to purchase delicious food and drinks such as pulled pork BBQ, pizza, hamburgers, cotton candy, and other favorites.  For guests wanting the best seats in town to view the All American 4th of July fireworks display, and early exclusive access to the activities in the exhibit halls from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., tickets start at $9!  Click here for more information.   Bring your friends and family to the freedom celebration!

Keep the celebration going on July 6 at Diamond Lake Resort!  The annual Freedom Bash features pie eating contests, games like “Chicken Chuckin'” and, of course, the fabulous firework display!  Celebrate with patriotic fun all week!  Don’t miss out!
