The Joe Ford Nature Center celebrates Joe Ford, Owensboro’s favorite naturalist and nature man nicknamed “The Answer Man”, on Saturday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Joe Ford Day is a free event for the whole family, complete with face painting, and popcorn. You can also enjoy nature as Joe would have wanted with a little music as you walk the trails. Donations will be accepted, soft drinks and water will be sold, and the gift shop and museum will be open! Great weather makes this sure to be a fun-filled day, so grab your friends, family and a picnic basket!
Trunnell’s Farm Animal Day
Bring the family out to meet some babies at Trunnell’s Animal Barnyard on Saturday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.! During this special event your children will get up close and personal with all of their baby animals – chicks, ducklings, bunnies, goats, calves, pigs and more! Children will discover why these animals are important to the farm, how to care for these animals on the farm, and how to feed the baby animals. Bring your camera because there will be plenty of time for cuddling and kissing all the baby animals! This event is only $5 per child. Kids can stay and play inthe Family Fun Acre for FREE! 100 Men Who Can Cook
Join 100 local chefs and support the Cliff Hagan’s Boys & Girls Club and Honor Flight Bluegrass! This unique fundraiser will feature 100 community “chefs” who will prepare their favorite appetizer, side dish, entree or dessert just for you! 100 Men Who Can Cook is hosted at the Owensboro Convention Center on Saturday, May 18 at 6:30 p.m. This event is Old National Bank’s signature fundraising event which has raised over $6 million for charities within Owensboro’s footprint.
