2019 Bar-B-Q Festival

The 2019 International Bar-B-Q Festival fires up May 10 and 11 for another year of fierce competition, non-stop entertainment like the most famous competitive eater who’s ever lived, Joey “Jaws” Chestnut and, some of the best Bar-B-Q in the world!  Attendees can try some burgoo and Bar-B-Q sandwiches from the cooking teams on Friday, and Saturday afternoon is judging time for the larger cooking teams competing in a fierce Bar-B-Q showdown in an effort to win the Governor’s Cup!  If you have any spare time, take a stroll through the beautiful downtown riverfront, browse the booths of handmade arts and crafts, and explore the local shops and restaurants.   This is a must-attend event for foodies and festival goers alike.  Click here for more info.

 

Mother’s Day Brunch 2019

Celebrate mom with a special brunch this Mother’s Day at the Owensboro Convention Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The meal includes a delicious buffet of your favorites, including comfort foods like buttermilk biscuits and country gravy, waffle bar with assorted toppings, grilled flank steak and honey bourbon glazed Kentucky Legend ham, and a sweet finish of assorted desserts.  Tables can be customized to accommodate your family’s size – from 3 to 30! – all set in the third floor ballrooms inside the Owensboro Convention Center, providing a beautiful view of the downtown Owensboro riverfront.  Each mom in attendance will receive a complimentary gift and may register for a chance to win some wonderful prizes courtesy of Nick T. Owensboro Regional Farmers’ Market

The 2019 market season has just begun!  Every year the market provides the Owensboro community with the best locally grown produce and farm fed meat products while supporting local farmers and businesses. Make sure you visit between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. through November 2 at the corner of Triplett Street and Parish Avenue, 1205 Triplett St.  Tuesday and Thursday markets will open June 4 through October 31, 6:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.  Beginning May 15 through August 28, a satellite market will also be available on Wednesdays from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. located at the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, 1201 Pleasant Valley Road.  All vendors accept cash, most will accept personal checks, and some will accept credit/debit cards.
