Porchfest 2019

Experience southern charm at its best with the trendiest, one-of-a-kind community event!  On Saturday, June 8 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., the Griffith Avenue area between Frederica Street and Robin Road will be transformed into the grounds for a one-day music festival!

Porch Fests are all the rage right now, organized by the community as a way to reconnect with neighbors and share good times.  Residents on Griffith Avenue will act as “Porch Hosts”, converting their beautiful, spacious porches into “stages” for the afternoon.  Their inviting front yards will be open for music listeners to bring their own chairs and sit and enjoy the show.  Audience members are also encouraged to stroll freely from “stage” to “stage”, enjoying great musical talent without worrying about a ticket or a seat.  This year’s event has nearly doubled in size, complete with 15 “stages”, 45 artists, and 10 food truck vendors!

Owensboro, KY and the Tri-State region is home to some of the most accomplished musicians from guitarists, percussionists, violinists and more to songwriters and talented vocalists. We will hear original music as well as interpretations of releases from other artists.  A few of the artists highlighted in this year’s lineup include Josh Merritt, Nick Lawson, Rubbing Alcoholics, The Shine, Elliott Subblett, and Gaslight Boys.  Learn all about some of the amazing and unique artists as they are featured on Porchfest OBKY Facebook Page here.

In addition to all of the outstanding music, several vendors and food trucks will be stationed on Griffith Ave. including Fresh. By Gene’s, Taqueria, Curbside Kitchett, and Slick Back BBQ among others.  Bring your walking shoes, lawn chairs, and southern hospitality!  This event is free and suitable for all ages. Come and celebrate music and community!
