Wild Mountain Thyme Celtic Concert

Wild Mountain Thyme has performed in the tri-state area for approximately 11 years, bringing the rich history and lively sound of Celtic music.  The Daviess County Public Library is hosting the FREE Wild Thyme Celtic Concert on Thursday, March 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Celtic music served as a major influence for bluegrass, old-time, country, and folk music, making this an important part in the history of music in Owensboro too!  Bill Monroe, the Father of Bluegrass music, often was quoted as saying his style of bluegrass music evolved from his Celtic roots.  Learn more about Celtic music and the rich history behind the genre this Thursday!

 

Princess Whatsername!

The Theatre Workshop of Owensboro’s youth actors perform Princess Whatsername! on Friday, March 8 at 7 p.m. in The Empress Theatre.  This charming musical tells the story of a young girl who awakens in The Misty Forest without any memory.  As she goes in search of her identity, she meets classic fairy tale characters, all of whom have information that will lead her to the truth she seeks!  This is a heartwarming show for the family to enjoy.  Tickets are $15.00 for adults and $12.00 for students.  Click here to purchase yours now or call TWO Box Office at (270) 683-5333.

 

Steep Canyon Rangers

The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum officially announced the line-up for their Spring Bluegrass Concert Series!  Their first installment of the series features Steep Canyon Rangers this Saturday, March 9 at 7 p.m.   This acoustic bluegrass quintet based in Asheville, NC is sure to kick off the series with a whole lot of soul.

The series includes six performances featuring Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen, Dailey & Vincent, The Isaacs, and Sierra Hull, and all past ROMP Festival performers.  The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum hosts the series as a tune-up for the annual ROMP Festival held in Owensboro, Kentucky from June 26-29.  Tickets for the series are on sale now.  Series tickets include seats to all six concerts and discounted pricing, individual tickets may be purchased too.  Click here for to buy tickets now and find more information.  Grab yours while you can!
