Mark Calitri, CVB president, said earlier that the idea was to “introduce them to Owensboro and put our community on their road map. These tour operators, if impressed, will book future bus group trips to visit Owensboro.”
Calitri said Dave Kirk, Visit Owensboro, Destination Management will be spearheading the project. ‘It all starts with establishing a relationship with the tour operators and we will have a great opportunity to start the process during the American Bus Association conference in Louisville, KY. From here we will start trying to connect with the operators who see Western Kentucky as an opportunity to visit.
