Inaugural 2-A State set for Sportscenter

The inaugural Class 2-A State Basketball Tournament will be held Friday through Sunday at the Owensboro Sportscenter.

Eight teams will compete in both the boys’ tournament and the girls’ tournament.

 

Boys’ play begins at 9:30 a.m. on Friday when Glasgow (11-6) meets Morgan County (14-6). Other quarterfinal games Friday are undefeated John Hardin (18-0) against Scott (10-6) at 12:30 p.m., Knox Central (15-2) versus Webster County (12-7) at 6:30 p.m. and Bourbon County (16-6) against Christian Academy-Louisville (8-10) at 9:30 p.m.

The boys’ semifinals are set for 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, with the championship game slated at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Girls’ play begins at 8 a.m. on Friday when Scott (12-7) takes on Adair County (8-11). Other quarterfinal games Friday include Rowan County (13-3) against Glasgow (14-4) at 11 a.m., Christan Academy-Louisville (14-4) facing Mercer County (10-6) at 5 p.m. and Webster County (19-2) meeting Bell County (8-9) at 8 p.m.

The girls’ semifinals will be played at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, with the title game scheduled for noon.

Admission is $10 per day at the door.
