2018 Bronze Buffalo Paintout

The 10th Annual Buffalo Paintout and Gala is Sept. 27-29 at the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art.  This three-day event will be highlighted by an exhibition and gala on Saturday, September 29, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  The Gala will feature live and silent auctions, frontier cuisine, spirits and special live entertainment.  The Gala’s live auction will feature spectacular jewelry, including a white gold diamond and aquamarine bracelet and two vintage sets of raw diamond necklaces and earnings from the mid-20th century!  Seven artists have been named “Bronze Buffalo Artists” and invited to donate a work of art to be auctioned as a benefit for the museum.  Merit and Purchase Awards will be presented for winning entries at the end of Saturday night.

Guntoberfest at Whittaker’s

Gun enthusiasts from Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana and Illinois alike will be at the fourth annual “Guntoberfest” this weekend.  Traditionally held in October, the festival will take place on Saturday, Sept. 29 at Whittaker Guns on West Louisville Lane.  In addition to sales on all types of firearms and equipment, festival-goers will have one-on-one time with gun manufacturers’ representatives and the time to ask questions.  A special Backroads Bash will be held in the natural amphitheater next to the store to celebrate the day with live performances from country singers Sammy Kershaw and Dillon Carmichael.  Carmichael is taking the stage at 7 p.m. and Kershaw at 8:30 p.m.  General admission is $30. VIP is $60.

 

Justin Moore & David Lee Murphy Live

Watch Country superstar Justin Moore and special guest David Lee Murphy live in concert at the Owensboro Sportscenter on Friday, Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m.  After a decade in the business and more than a dozen hit songs, Moore’s brand of “real country” music continues to resonate among his millions of fans. Moore’s current album Kinda Don’t Care carries on that tradition, including the smash hit singles ‘You Look Like I Need A Drink’ and ‘Somebody Else Will’.  Singer-songwriter David Lee Murphy has been a staple on the country music scene since the 90’s and is best known for his brand of cleverly written country anthems.
