American Taekwando Association Regional Tournament

Looking for something different this weekend?  Check out the American Taekwando Association Regional Tournament on Saturday, Sept 22 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Owensboro Convention Center.  Taekwondo students will be coming from all over the United States to compete!  Each competitorr, ages 3 to 93 of all ranks, will have the option to compete in eight different events. The events are forms, weapons, sparring, combat sparring, creative/extreme forms, creative/extreme weapons. The ATA is the largest single martial art in the world, with 1500 schools all over the U.S. plus 19 different countries covering five different continents.  This is sure to be an exciting event to watch! KWC All-American Club Classic Car & Truck Show

Kentucky Wesleyan College will host its annual car and truck show on Sept. 22 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the front lawn of KWC.  The event features all models of classic, vintage, hot rods, muscle and custom automobiles and trucks.  Food trucks and vendors will be on-hand as well as entertainment for everyone!  This is a free event complete with music, door prizes, kid’s blow-up slide, and a large silent auction!  Proceeds benefit the Kentucky Wesleyan Basketball program!  Click here for registration and award information.

 

“Grillin’ and Chillin’” BBQ Cook-Off

The Kentucky State Championship BBQ Cook-Off is here!  Join in on the fun on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 21 and 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Diamond Lake Resort!   As many as 48 of the best cooking teams from several states will compete for thousands of dollars in prize money.  There will also be a separate “People’s Choice” contest at 11 a.m. Saturday, so come on out and be a judge!  The “Grillin’ and Chillin’” BBQ Cook-Off supports local organizations while finding the best BBQ the area can offer. This is an event you don’t want to miss!
