2018 Bronze Buffalo Paintout & Gala

Kentucky’s second largest art museum, the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art located right on Frederica Street is having a unique event that’s perfect for you art lovers.  The 10th Annual Buffalo Paintout and Gala is Sept. 27-29 at the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art.  This three-day event will be highlighted by an exhibition and gala on Saturday, September 29, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The Gala will feature live and silent auctions, frontier cuisine, spirits and special live entertainment.  The Gala’s live auction will feature spectacular jewelry, including a white gold diamond and aquamarine bracelet and two vintage sets of raw diamond necklaces and earnings from the mid-20th century!

The exhibition of paintings from the annual Bronze Buffalo En Plein Air Paintout is designed to document Owensboro and Daviess County as they appear in 2018.  The Buffalo theme was inspired by the two monumental bronzes installed in the art museum’s Ryan Sculpture Park on Frederica St. which were designed to commemorate Owensboro’s origins as a buffalo trace.

Seven artists have been named “Bronze Buffalo Artists” and invited to donate a work of art to be auctioned as a benefit for the museum.  Merit and Purchase Awards will be presented for winning entries at the end of Saturday night.  Admission is $50 per person and Friends of the OMFA Foundation receive a discount, as their admission is $40 per person.
