Are you a car fanatic?  If so, you’re in luck because the 12th Annual “Street Legends” Car Show will be this Friday, August 17 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, August 18 from 8 a.m. to 1p.m at the Diamond Lake Resort.   This annual event was voted one of the top 20 events in the Southeastern United States and has become one of the premiere automotive events in the Tri-State area.  Legends car show will display as many as 600 cars!  Plan to spend the whole day filled with fun and entertainment like daily cash prizes, $100 hourly drawings and 50-50 pots!

KY Open Sports Festival & Expo

Bodybuilding competitors and fans alike, come out to the Kentucky Open Sports Festival & Expo at the Owensboro Convention Center on Saturday, August 18!  This national bodybuilding qualifying competition brings people from across the United States to Owensboro and offers hundreds of vendor options ranging from apparel and nutrition to baking and healthy living.

If you’re looking to become a competitor, you are eligible to register until the close of check-in on Friday night from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  Each category is $100 to compete in.  Click here for more info.

 

Multicultural Fest

Each year, on the 3rd Saturday of August, First Presbyterian Church hosts the Owensboro Multicultural Festival on the church’s front lawn at 1328 Griffith Avenue.  The 20th Annual Owensboro Multicultural Festival celebration is Saturday, August 18 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is a free event for the whole community.   The goal is to foster understanding and respect for our similarities and differences, so we may build a stronger community.
