The Bourbon & Bluegrass Century, presented by Bicycle Owensboro, will take place on August 3. Celebrating the event’s third year, the ride benefits Dream Riders of Kentucky, Inc., a non-profit organization founded in 2003 that offers equine assisted activities and therapies to individuals of all ages who have special needs.
The cycling event consists of three distances; the 100-mile century, the 62-mile metric century and a 30-mile ride. The ride begins at 7 a.m. at O.Z. Tyler Distillery and takes you through the rural farm land of western Kentucky along the Ohio and Green Rivers. The ride will be supported with SAG stops every 15-20 miles.
On Friday evening, a mixer/packet pickup will be held at O. Z. Tyler Distillery with distillery tours and bourbon tastings available. Don’t forget about the pre-ride continental breakfast Saturday morning and a post-ride meal with live bluegrass music for your enjoyment.
