Encore Musicals presents a touching show on April 26-28 at 7:30 p.m. and April 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the Third Baptist Church Sanctuary.   It’s October 1945.  The war is over, and America’s years of prosperity are just beginning.  Having been called to preach in Texas, Reverend Mervin Oglethorpe is giving his last sermon at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church before riding off into the sunset with his wife, June.  Join the Sanders Family as they send Mervin and June off in style, with hilarious and touching stories, and 25 fabulous Bluegrass Gospel favorites. First Class Exhibit: American Glass Whimsies and 20th C. Studio Art Glass

First Class Glass, a collection of two centuries of art rendered in glass, will open at the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art, Saturday, April 28.  The exhibition features an astounding 267 glass objects crafted by master glassblowers of the mid-19th century called “glass whimsies”.  The exhibit will continue through July 16.  Museum hours are Tuesday-Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday/Sunday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. 

Annual Plant Sale

The Western Kentucky Botanical Garden will be hosting their annual plant sale on Saturday, April 28 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  This year’s sale will occur off site at the Elizabeth Munday Senior Citizen Center to ensure the garden is not affected by cold or rainy weather!  Stop by to make your spring garden purchases from a variety of annuals, perennials, herbs, and heirloom tomato plants.
