  1. Owensboro Symphony’s Shakespeare in Love + Date Night

Conductor Troy Quinn and the Owensboro Symphony’s Shakespeare in Love “Date Night” planned for the community promises to be a must-attend event!  The show begins at 6:15 p.m. in Cannon Hall at the RiverPark Center with “Behind the Music” with Troy Quinn. This will be a great evening of film, popular and classical music, featuring something for everyone.

 

“Date Night” will continue after the concert right around the corner for the “After Party” at CYO Brewing! Join Troy and the Lacy Jean Trio for a little something “special”! This event promises to be an evening of great music and non-stop fun.

  1. Kentucky Thoroughbreds vs. Rochester RazorSharks

The Kentucky Thoroughbreds tip off their inaugural season on Friday, Jan. 12 at 7 p.m. at the newly renovated Owensboro Sportscenter. The Kentucky Thoroughbreds are set to compete in the new North American Premier Basketball League, which includes teams from Albany, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Rochester, Vancouver, Yakima, Seattle and Akron. Bring the whole family to cheer on our hometown team as they take on the Rochester RazorSharks!

  1. Appalachian Spirit Exhibit at the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art

Appalachian Spirit features some of the most prominent artists of the mid to late 20th century and celebrates the museum’s collection as an important documentary on this aspect of American art. Many of these artists have earned wide recognition in contemporary art circles and some have achieved a permanent place in American art history. While the exhibit will be available until Feb 4, you can check the artwork out this Saturday or Sunday during the museum’s regular 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. hours.
