Motown Comes to The RiverPark Center

What began as one man’s story became everyone’s music and is now a Broadway musical coming to the RiverPark Center on Friday, September 29 at 7pm. MOTOWN THE MUSICAL is a true American dream story of Motown Founder Berry Gordy’s journey from featherweight boxer to the heavyweight musical mogul who launched the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Smokey Robinson and many more. Motown helped shape our lives and made us all dance to the same beat.

MOTOWN THE MUSICAL chose to build and start their show in Owensboro, KY for many reasons according to Roxi Witt, the Executive Director of the RiverPark Center. One of the main reasons being the RiverPark Center’s theatre space including the loading dock, workshop facilities and the Jody Berry Theatre along with the availability they had to host the show. Witt stated in an interview, “The RiverPark Center’s staff and the community always shows good old southern hospitality which means a lot to the cast and crew of the show.”
