In 2005, AMA Pro Racer, and Owensboro native, Tommy Hayden won the highly competitive Supersport Championship Title for a second straight year becoming only the third rider in the history of the series to accomplish that feat. This also helped earn Tommy his first nomination for the AMA Pro Racing SPEED Channel Athlete of the Year.

Winter Wonderland

The Owensboro riverfront is turned into a Winter Wonderland from mid-November through December, with an outdoor skating rink, holiday movies on a big outdoor cinema screen, and visits from St. Nick.

 

WKBG

The Western Kentucky Botanical Garden has beauty to offer all year round. WKBG has seven established gardens - Butterfly, Rose, Daylily, Iris, Herb, Fruit & Berry, and the Takahashi Japanese Memorial Garden. The Garden offers many special programs throughout the year, including many children's activities in their Playhouse.
