Located on the banks of the Ohio River, Owensboro is Kentucky’s third largest city. Called Kentucky’s Festival City, Owensboro holds over 20 annual Festivals and Events, most which are unique to this western KY town. These events attract visitors from around the country and around the world. From barbeque to bluegrass, from fine arts to fine dining, from festivals to Broadway shows, Owensboro offers something for everyone!

Owensboro is home to several unique attractions, such as the International Bluegrass Music Museum, the only international museum dedicated to preserving and showcasing the history, collections, and artifacts of bluegrass music - an exciting, original American art form with its genesis in Kentucky, and the RiverPark Center, a bustling Regional Performing Arts and Civic center that hosts more than 1,000 events each year, including professional Broadway tour performances. We are also home to the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art, the Owensboro Museum of Science and History, and the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden.

Owensboro has the special distinction of being known as Kentucky’s #1 Sports town as stated by Sports Illustrated. With great sports facilities, such as 2 large baseball/softball complexes, two 10 field soccer complexes, a brand new state-of-the-art 4-field football complex, a 5,000 seat arena, tennis courts, park facilities and several gymnasiums, it is easy to see why Owensboro received this title. Coupled with the southern hospitality, Owensboro is truly a sports destination for thousands of athletes and fans from every part of the country each year!
