The Theatre Workshop of Owensboro (TWO) has announced TWO off the Aisle, an evening of interactive lessons in culinary arts featuring several of downtown Owensboro’s prominent cooks. On Monday, March 31, aspiring chefs can choose from four fun classes focusing on very different aspects of food preparation.
Bill Hughes, proprietor of Bill’s Restaurant, will invite participants into his basement bakery to share the secrets of his homemade bread. 420 Frederica Street
Miller House chef Kasey Dillow welcomes students into the Miller House kitchen where she will teach the restaurant’s signature bourbon-infused dishes. 301 W. 5th Street
Alisha Hardison, master baker behind Dalisha’s Desserts, offers a class in preparing gum paste ornaments and tips for beautiful cakes. 1010 Allen Street, Ste. 200
Campbell Club chef Matt Weafer will teach students a fresh take on finding and preparing locally sourced produce. 517 Frederica Street
Each of the restaurants will be closed to other customers on that night so participating students will enjoy a private, intimate behind-the-scenes experience. A class is $20 for TWO Members, $25 for all others. The cost of the class includes a serving of wine, materials, a 60-90 minute presentation, and printed instructions. Participants will enjoy a fun, interactive environment and a sampling of food before leaving with new skills and recipes.
