Elizabeth Keckely was a former slave who became a successful seamstress, civil activist and author in Washington, DC. She was best known as the personal modiste and confidante of Mary Todd Lincoln, the First Lady. Rebecca Wright returns to TWO this season with her own adaptation of Mrs. Keckley’s autobiography, “Thirty Years a Slave and Four in the White House.” Wright’s play, “The Silhouette of Elizabeth Keckley,” will premiere at TWO this February.
