The Owensboro Museum of Science and History will feature a mini-exhibit to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
Artifacts include the Nov. 22, 1963, afternoon edition and the Nov. 26, 1963, front page of the Messenger-Inquirer; a Nov. 25, 1963 telegram from Illinois Central Railroad, which ordered all trains to stop for six minutes in honor of Kennedy; and cards sent to Owensboro residents, Alice Harris and K.L. Mercer. The First Lady sent the signed cards to the thousands who sent her sympathy cards.
The exhibit will be up through mid-December in the foyer of the Wendell H. Ford Government Education Center on the second floor.
Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
