Congratulations to Bill’s Restaurant employee Sherry Garrity who became the May 2014 “Visit Owensboro Service Star”. She was nominated for giving outstanding service to a visitor to the community within the last month.
“Sherry took a call from a visitor to Owensboro with dietary restrictions who wanted to eat at Bill’s,” said Shannon Wetzel, Executive Director for the Owensboro Daviess County Convention & Visitors Bureau. “She took the initiative to work with the caller and arrange for the kitchen to accommodate her.”
Convention & Visitors Bureau officials and the Visit Owensboro Hospitality Committee surprised Sherry at work with a balloon bouquet, $100 cash, and tickets to a RiverPark Center event.
The Visit Owensboro Hospitality Committee is actively seeking additional service stars to be honored. They plan to choose one service star each month.
