Owensboro, Kentucky’s Festival City
Located on the banks of the Ohio River, Owensboro is Kentucky’s third largest city. Called Kentucky’s Festival City, Owensboro holds over 20 annual Festivals and Events, most which are unique to this western KY town. We are also home to the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art, the Owensboro Museum of Science and History, and the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden.
Owensboro has the special distinction of being known as Kentucky’s #1 Sports Town as stated by Sports Illustrated. With great sports facilities, such as 2 large baseball/softball complexes, two 10 field soccer complexes, a brand new state-of-the-art, 4-field football complex, a 5,000 seat arena, year-round ice arena, tennis courts, park facilities and several gymnasiums, it is easy to see why Owensboro received this title.
